The Kabarak Community Music School (KCMS), which is under the School of Music and Media stands out as a beacon for anyone eager to elevate their musical skills and explore their passion for music. The School of Music and Media emanated from the Second President of Kenya, Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi’s passion and pure love for music. Since its inception in August 2015 and commissioning in September 2016, the school has since offered an advancement of church music education and musical arts education in general.

The Church in Kenya, the Kenyan child and the general public can now pride in state-of-the-art music facility that is poised to offer world class music education and training.

According to the Head of Department of Music Dr. Joyce Mochere, the department cultivates a vibrant community of music learners, educators, and performers. “We are dedicated to excellence in music education, nurturing the artistic potential of our students within a Christ-centered environment,” she says.

With offerings that span across various musical genres and instruments, students can choose from a rich curriculum that includes Strings (Violin, Cello, Double Bass), Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn), and Woodwind (Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe). Additionally, options such as Piano, Voice, Guitar, and Drumset allow for a diverse learning experience.

But the offerings don’t stop there! KCMS also provides additional training in critical areas such as Music Theory and Songwriting, Music Production and DJ Skills, Church Music and Live Sound Essentials, and even Contemporary Dance Classes.
