Youth from Noiwet, Mogotio Constituency in Baringo County are marching to State House Nairobi in solidarity with their fellow youth, Emmanuel Kipkurui.

Emmanuel began his symbolic journey on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., pushing a wheelbarrow with the intention of delivering a message directly to President William Ruto.

The march has drawn a large team from Noiwet, determined to reach Nairobi despite challenges along the way. The group describes the journey as both demanding and tiresome, yet they remain hopeful and united in their mission.

By late afternoon, the team arrived in London Estate, Nakuru, at exactly 5:45 p.m., marking a significant milestone in their journey.

Ishmael, one of the youth leaders, said: “We have come in solidarity to support our own Emmanuel Kipkurui, who has started his journey to State House. He has a message he wants to deliver to the President. We expect the journey to be smooth.”

Another youth described the experience: “The journey has been challenging and tiresome, but we expect to get to Nairobi. We are a big team from Noiwet, and we are expecting much.”

Participants emphasize peace and unity, framing the journey as a non-political act aimed at inspiring fellow youth ahead of the 2027 elections.

Emmanuel himself emphasized the purpose of the march: “This journey is about delivering a message to the President. This is not political. I urge the youth to be peaceful as we head to elections.”

Faith Kingetich, another youth added: “Next year, we should vote peacefully in 2027.”

The presence of elders alongside the youth underscored community support, while the group highlighted their admiration for the President’s role in motivating young people.

Francis Kiyai, the elder accompanying the group, said: “The message we want to give the President is good. We are happy with the way he inspires youth.”

Kenya has one of the youngest populations in the world—about 75 percent are under 35—and youth remain central to its politics.

Yet despite constitutional guarantees and activism, voter registration and representation among young people have declined in recent elections. The march from Noiwet illustrates both the frustrations and the determination of Kenya’s youth, signaling their resolve to make their voices heard in shaping the country’s future
