Kabarak University invites prospective students to embark on an enriching academic journey with its newly launched Master of Arts in English Language and Linguistics.

Designed to enhance your understanding of English and linguistics, this program runs for four semesters at the Main Campus, under the School of Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Who Can Enroll?

This program is tailored for individuals holding a Bachelor of Education (Arts) or a BA (Arts) in English with at least a Second-Class Honors Upper Division from Kabarak University or any institution recognized by the Commission of University Education.

Additionally, candidates with a Second-Class Honors Lower Division and at least two years of professional experience post-graduation are also encouraged to apply.

What Will You Learn?

The Master of Arts in Linguistics is designed to equip you with specialized skills to analyze language through various linguistic lenses. You will gain expertise that enables you to apply language effectively in diverse contexts, including: Linguistic Research, Linguistic Consultancy, Translation and Editing, Journalism as well as Applied Linguistics.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be capable of conducting in-depth studies to further knowledge in the field and prepare for careers in publishing, media, communication, and education. You will also be well-equipped to tackle language-related challenges in business and public service.

Graduates of this program can explore a range of exciting career paths, including Audiology, Communications, Community Outreach and Advocacy, Curriculum Planning, Entrepreneurship and Human Resources.
