Kabarak University students continue to enhance their performances ahead of the Kenya Film and Drama Festivals, which will be held at Lion Gardens in Nakuru. Competing students are enthusiastic about the event, with many optimistic that the outcome will favour Kabarak University.

"I was born ready, and for this competition, I'm confident that I'm prepared to make history. The team has been very supportive, and I love that we all work as brothers and sisters. The goal is winning, with no compromise. So help us God!,” Allan Wetungu, a School of Music and Media student, stated.

On the other hand, Collins Ngetich, who is participating in the broadcast category, stated," I always believe in nothing less than victory. The practice and preparation we've been doing have sharpened our skills, and we are more than ready for this competition."

Some of the items that will debut include podcasts, live news presentations, advertisements and documentaries.

This year’s festival theme is "Leveraging Technology to Nurture Talent While Inculcating National Values for Socio-Economic Prosperity.”

Some of the performances which will be presented include scripted plays, dramatized verse, cultural creative dance, African storytelling, stand-up comedy, modern dance, mime, and film.

Lecturers and the university highly support the students by nurturing their talent and providing equipment. National performances are expected to be held in Nakuru from 7 to April 18, 2025, where the students plan to showcase their acting and creative talents on stage.

"The school has provided equipment for us and the lecturers have supported us a lot during our daily rehearsals. I am positive that we are going to do our best in this competition," Peter William, a student in charge of the broadcast category, reported.
