- With the approvals, 88 percent of all learners now stand placed in line with either their original or revised selections.
The Ministry of Education has cleared 211,636 review requests from Grade 10 entrants, adjusting their Senior School placements after the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) results.
The Ministry has also confirmed that the remaining applications were declined due to either the absence of preferred subject combinations or limited capacity in the selected schools. Learners whose requests were unsuccessful have already received guidance on alternative options.
“There were, for example, up to 20,000 applicants for schools like Alliance High School and Kenya High School, against an average capacity of 500 slots,” the Ministry explained in a statement released on X.
With the approvals, 88 percent of all learners now stand placed in line with either their original or revised selections.
The Ministry has also announced that learners will have another opportunity to apply for further review between January 6 and January 9, 2026.
