Kenya is in mourning following the passing of Isiolo South Member of Parliament, Mohamed Tubi Bidu, who died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital. His death marks the end of a distinguished career in public service, conservation, and grassroots leadership.

“His commitment to transforming the lives of his constituents and advancing development in Isiolo stands as a lasting legacy of his leadership,” the President said.
Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, who worked closely with Tubi during his tenure as the Inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly (2013–2017), has remembered him as a key pillar in the collective efforts to promote peace, security, and stability in Isiolo County.
“Hon. Tubi will be fondly remembered for his legacy of commitment to development, peaceful coexistence, and environmental conservation,” Murkomen said.

Tubi Bidu was elected to represent Isiolo South Constituency in 2022 under the Jubilee Party, serving until his untimely death. He was an active member of the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry & Mining and the Public Petitions Committee, where his background in wildlife conservation and park management shaped his advocacy for sustainable development.
His tenure as Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly was marked by foundational work in establishing county governance structures post-devolution. He championed basic education, infrastructure development, and environmental preservation, leaving behind a legacy that transcends politics.
With his passing while still in office, a by-election will be held to fill the Isiolo South parliamentary seat. Local leaders have proposed that flags fly at half-mast across Isiolo County in honor of his service and sacrifice.
