In a recent city raid, detectives have arrested a man believed to be the mastermind behind the theft of mobile phones and have successfully recovered hundreds of stolen devices.

The suspect, Jeremiah Mbugua, was apprehended at his second-hand mobile phone shop at Califonia House along Gaberone Street.

Following a thorough search, detectives discovered many stolen mobile phones on the premises.

They also uncovered additional items related to the illicit activities. Among the recovered items were a software installation device, external storage devices, and universal flushing device interface gadgets, commonly known as "ndongois."

These devices are often used to manipulate or alter stolen phones' software and identification details, making them difficult to trace.

Jeremiah Mbugua is in custody following his arrest, assisting detectives with their investigations.
