President Ruto while speaking during the first Urban Forum 2023 in Naivasha, Nakuru County on June 14, 2023 shunned the claims of people who say that he will only rule as president for only one term.

He has come out clear that he is here to make a difference and that he does not care whether he’ll have a second term or not.

“Many people tell me I should think about my second term. My second term will be meaningless if my first term achieves nothing. I am not here so that I can have a second term, I am here because I want to make a difference,” said the president.

During the Madaraka Day Celebrations on June 1, 2023, the president admitted to having sleepless nights, trying to figure out how to lower the cost of living.

The opposition, led by Raila Odinga have been having protests, against the high cost of living saying that the president has failed Kenyans on his promise on ensuring that the economy is fair to the common mwananchi.

The opposition leader has been against different implementations by the Kenya Kwanza Government including the appointment of the CAS, the finance bill as well as the spiked prices of commodities.
