Kabarak University has opened the doors ushering in applications for the Master of Science in Nursing (MSc.N) programme. The programme falls under the umbrella of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The Institution promises a wide range of specializations within the Programme’s brackets. These include midwifery and Reproductive Health Nursing, Oncology and Palliative Care Nursing, Nursing Education, Leadership and Management in Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, and Neonatal and Paediatric Health Nursing.

The University has cut the mustard in fashioning constructive objectives to be achieved in regard to the programme. The set goals aim to disseminate competent and disciplined individuals into the health sector, courtesy of the fruitful methods applied in teaching and training.

The programme assumes a four-category shape incorporating full-time, part-time, fully online and short courses. The programme is expected to prepare broad-minded practice nurses to develop innovative, practical solutions to complex health problems from a scientific perspective.

In efforts to provide cutting-edge personnel, Kabarak university has set an eye on creating leaders with decision-making skills in clinical practice, education, administration, research, and community practice.

Through intertwining theory with practical training, the university aims to provide nurses with the necessary skills to develop, test concepts, and conduct independent research that will add onto the body of knowledge defining the specialty of nursing.

The University has further ensured an all-rounded teaching model which puts physical and virtual learning on the same page. Catering to face-to-face and e-learning demands will allow the students to pursue the programme without interrupting employment. This model will additionally enable the individuals to apply the new medical skills as they practice in workshop placements.

The school dean’s introduction assures that “The University has also signed a Memoranda of Understanding with Nakuru Level 5 Hospital formerly Provincial General Hospital (PGH)-Nakuru, Tenwek Hospital, AIC Kijabe Hospital and PCEA Chogoria Hospital, AIC Litein Hospital as clinical sites for health programs among other centres.
The University is now among the few institutions in Kenya to be fully accredited by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI) to train Nutritionists and dieticians.”

International students are welcome to submit their transcripts/certificates upon verification and appraisal by CUE.

The University has also necessitated the need for a registered nurse licensure in the country where the candidate completed his/her hands-on clinical practice.

Besides providing a well-detailed curriculum vitae (CV), applicants are expected to add supporting recommendations from at least two persons who are well acquainted with the applicant's previous academic work and professional experience to the bargain.

Upon meeting all the above requirements, the University intends to conduct a personal interview with the candidates.
