Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have seized bhang worth an estimated Sh11.6 million in two separate operations, underscoring the Directorate of Criminal Investigations’ (DCI) intensified crackdown on drug trafficking networks.
Acting on credible intelligence, ANU officers working jointly with the Dog Unit have intercepted a silver Toyota Voxy (KBN 486Z) along the Kabarak–Nakuru Road.
The driver managed to escape, but the co-driver, Dennis Mukungua, was swiftly arrested. A search of the vehicle uncovered 12 green sacks and 12 bales of bhang, weighing 387 kilograms.
According to the DCI, Mukungua, together with the impounded vehicle and narcotics, was escorted to the police station for processing and awaits arraignment.
In a parallel operation, detectives from Keiyo South teamed up with officers from Metkei Police Station to intercept a Toyota Fielder (KDV 627S) in Kapchorwa, Kamwosor Location.

The driver, Vincent Odhiambo, was arrested after a search revealed seven bags of bhang.
Odhiambo, along with the seized drugs and vehicle, was taken to Metkei Police Station for legal proceedings.
