• Kenyans want to hear the president talk of how the government is working towards stabilizing the economy and the strategies to alleviate the burden of high commodity prices. The issue to do with fuel subsidies and tax reforms are still big puzzles the citizen wants the president to unravel.

Everything is already set at the Kericho Green Gardens for the 60th Mashujaa day presided by His Excellency Dr. William Ruto on Friday, October 20, 2023, as it has been the norm since the country gained independence. This becomes the first-ever national celebration to be held in Kericho County.

Mashujaa Day celebrations are held annually and aimed at celebrating all the heroes and heroines who took part in the struggle for independence and those that have contributed positively in the post-independence of Kenya.

Though the theme of this celebrations will be Universal Health Care UHC, Kenyans are very eager to hear what president William Ruto will be addressing the nation about amidst this skyrocketing economy that has overburden many Kenyans especially the so termed Hustlers.

On September 25, 2023 when the president flagged off 100,000 Community Health Promoters Kits to all the 47 County Governments at the Uhuru Park, Nairobi County he said Kenyans will now be served at their homes in the spirit of the government`s transformative tact to serve the people. This is a good move in the sector of health.

The big question in the minds of all Kenyans now remains, what will be the president`s address on the issue of high prices of basic commodities. Kenyans want to hear their grievances addressed and actions taken.

Kenyans have in most times termed this current government as a government of empty promises and they are tired of more promises. This is after the prices of most basic commodities have gone up contrary to the promises the president made during the campaigns to lower the cost of living.

The price of petrol for example has risen to KSH 200 and above in many parts of the country. These high prices of goods have left many Kenyans struggling to have food on their tables. The facts that the president has been making new state appointments severally without considering the common Mwananchi is like adding salt on the wound.

Therefore, in this face of escalating prices of basic necessities, citizens across the nation are eagerly waiting for the president`s address during the Mashujaa day celebrations.
