• So wrong to hold someone all those days without trial I have started hating this government- Tweet  by @Bonychei

Kenyans are now questioning the justice system as the Ex- Mungiki leader Maina Njenga, who was captured on Wednesday last week, has not yet been arraigned in court and is missing. His family are seeking to know his whereabouts.

The ex-mungiki leader is said to have been captured on the wee hours of Wednesday July 19, 2023 morning ahead of protests against the high cost of living in the country.

Kenyans are now concerned as a majority of politicians allied to the opposition the likes of Hon Babu Owino, Godfrey Osotsi among others were later captured by police during the protests.

In a report by Citizen TV on Sunday July 23, 2023, the family of Maina Njenga led by his father pled with the government to release their kin.

Kenyans are claiming that it's evident there's nothing new politically happening, saying the the vicious cycle of political intolerance and intimidation is back.

According to Kenyans, the state of the nation is disappointing and disheartening, but still hope that they weren't wrong with their choice of president.

These were Kenyans' reactions after the report questioning the justice system in our courts:

@Bonychei

So wrong to hold someone all those days without trial I have started hating this government.

@BabaAng46238824

These man should be produced in a court or be released he is not a politician why hold him.

@danyuga80

The government should answer this question. Not only answering it, but also produce him.

I was happy to see @WilliamsRuto win elections, I was happy someone with different political views and tactics was elected but as things are faring , I am starting to see Dark days coming back! With this trend we ought to Embrace ourselves for the second dictatorship.
