America’s November 5 poll is not only important to the American people, but also to troubled countries such as Ukraine and Palestine.
The expected Trump-Biden re-battle puts a lot on the line as a republican win could have unprecedented implications on NATO politics.
Trump’s stand on local and international matters has sent jitters among the democrats, with polls showing him take the lead in the presidential race.
Speaking at the 2024 NATO summit, incumbent American president Joe Biden reassured America’s support to Ukraine in terms of humanitarian assistance and armament, despite recent threats by Russian President Vladimir Putin of Nuclear weapon usage if America intervened.
“In Europe, Putin’s war and aggression towards Ukraine continues, and Putin wants nothing less than Ukraine’s total subjugation. To end Ukraine’s democracy, to destroy Ukraine’s culture and to wipe Ukraine off the map and we know Putin won’t stop at Ukraine. But make no mistake, Ukraine can and will stop Putin. Especially with our full collective support, and they have our full support,” he said in his speech.

If Trump were to win in the November Election, it is unclear on whose side his administration would be on, given his statement and promise to end the war between the two countries as president-elect.
Saying that America was spending ‘too much money’ on Ukraine, the question of whether Trump would Keep NATO’s promise of providing Ukraine with tanks, armoured fighting vehicles, air defence systems, long-range missiles, and other war-related supplies lingers.
Expressing his fears, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensikiy, said in a statement on July 9, 2024, that he hopes America will never leave NATO.
“If the people of America will vote for president Trump, I hope that his policy with Ukraine will not change. I don’t know him very well, we had good meetings when he was President but we didn’t go through the war with him, and it is only during war that you understand whether you can count on somebody. I hope that the United States will never go out of NATO because the world will lose a lot of countries because of people like Putin. We will lose more countries which count on America in NATO. American leadership is not my decision, I am just sharing with you my thoughts," he said.
