The long- awaited development was aimed to provide electricity connectivity to approximately 500 households, including Wendo Vocational Training Centre which is a tertiary institution.

“I am happy that we have electricity now. The launch marks a milestone in our area because our youths can now start small and medium enterprises,” she said.

CS Wandayi reaffirmed that the Kenyan Government is committed to achieve the universal electricity connectivity for all households and villages by 2030, highlighting the benefits of power and how youth will benefit from it.

“Electricity contributes to economic growth as youth ventures in entrepreneurship. The launch aligns with national efforts to enhance renewable energy and rural power access, contributing to economic growth through job creation and improved services in institutions,” he said.
