- The partnership seeks to implement circular sanitation solutions that convert waste into usable products, fostering both environmental sustainability and enterprise opportunities.
The Nakuru County Government has on February 26, 2026, entered a transformative partnership with SNV, a Netherlands-based development organization, to advance food security, climate-smart agriculture, and economic opportunities for youth and women.
The agreement was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Deputy Governor David Kones and SNV Kenya Country Director Rebecca Hallam.
This collaboration, according to Nakuru County Government, will focus on practical initiatives that support farmers and entrepreneurs by promoting regenerative farming practices, solar-powered irrigation and agro-processing, and sustainable water management within the Mau ecosystem.
Additionally, the partnership seeks to implement circular sanitation solutions that convert waste into usable products, fostering both environmental sustainability and enterprise opportunities.
Special emphasis will be placed on gender equity, social inclusion, and youth empowerment, ensuring that marginalised groups can actively participate in and benefit from development initiatives.
