• “This high-level conference will bring together a distinguished delegation of U.S.-based investors in the creative sector and leading Kenyan creatives. It serves not only to promote the exchange of successful practices but also to unlock the vast economic potential of our creative industries, which currently contribute approximately 5% to our national GDP,” Mvurya explained.

The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Salim Mvurya has reaffirmed the government's commitment to fostering an environment where the creative sector can flourish within the global cultural economy.

His remarks come as the nation gears up for the highly anticipated Creative Economy Conference, set to take place on June 5, 2025.

“As a government, we are dedicated to translating the outcomes of this conference into actionable policies and frameworks that will enable our creative sector to thrive, scale, and lead in the global cultural landscape,” Mvurya stated.

On June 3, 2025, CS Mvurya met with Charge d’Affaires and the United States Ambassador to Kenya, alongside Mr. Drew Giblin, the U.S. Embassy’s Cultural Attaché, as part of the final preparations for this significant event.
