This development follows a series of incidents involving Governor Natembeya, including being forced to flee from the home of the late Malava Member of Parliament Malulu Injendi due to hostile crowds.
Police have raided the official residence of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya. On May 19, 2025 a significant police operation took place at the Kitale residence believed to be from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Heavy contingent of police officers in plain cloth well masked gained access to Governor George Natembeya, Milimani's home in Kitale.
At the time of the raid, Governor Natembeya was not present; he was reportedly in Nairobi. DAPK party leader Eugene Wamalwa and several Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) arrived during the operation, condemning it as politically motivated.
Wamalwa described the incident as "the worst intimidation by the government"

EACC has however not published a report on the incidence.
The Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K), to which Governor Natembeya belongs, has accused the government of using security forces to settle political scores.

Residents gathered outside the governor's home to protest the raid, leading to heightened tensions in the area. A section of rowdy youth deflated the tires of a vehicle belonging to DCI and EACC officials.
