The Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) Musalia Mudavadi is currently in the United Kingdom (UK), representing Kenya in the London-Sudan Conference. On the sidelines of this Conference, he has met with prominent delegates, where they discussed matters diplomacy.
On April 15, 2025, Mudavadi had constructive exchange with H.E. Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister for Political Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, where they underscored the significance of the Kenya-UAE CEPA in boosting trade by removing barriers, easing customs processes, and strengthening regional value chains.
Mudavadi has confirmed that Kenya has initiated the necessary domestic processes for ratifying the agreement and encouraged the UAE to advance its own efforts to ensure swift finalization.

“We discussed the UAE’s proposed Budgetary Support facility of USD 1.5 billion to support Kenya’s Rural Electrification project, now in the final stages of negotiation, with the National Treasury and Office of the Attorney General finalizing legal instruments,” he said.
Moreover, Mudavadi welcomed the commitment by Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company (ADQ) to establish a joint finance and investment framework with Kenya, targeting up to USD 500 million in key economic sectors. “The framework has been agreed upon and is now ready for implementation,” he added.
Mudavadi also met with Hadja Habib, the EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness, and Crisis Management, where they reflected on the longstanding and multifaceted partnership between Kenya and the European Union, spanning peace and security, trade, agriculture, renewable energy, transport, digitization, and more.
“I acknowledged the EU’s vital role as a key development partner and reaffirmed Kenya’s strong ties with all EU member states. I expressed confidence that our cooperation will continue to grow under her leadership,” he added.

Mudavadi has underscored that the upcoming second round of Political and Diplomatic Consultations between Kenya and Norway, set for Oslo later this year, will pave the way for more structured engagement on key bilateral and multilateral priorities.
“On the sidelines of the London-Sudan Conference, held bilateral talks with Mr. Åsmund Aukrust, Norway’s Minister for Development. We reaffirmed our shared commitment to deepening development cooperation,” he added.
He said that Kenya values Norway’s continued support for its sustainable development agenda and looks forward to expanding this partnership into new areas, particularly health, climate, and stronger people-to-people ties.
“I also acknowledged the important role of NORAD and the impact of Norwegian NGOs working alongside Kenyan partners in advancing goals in health, energy, education, and environmental sustainability,” he added.
