• You will never hear Ruto and his people speaking to Meg Whitman they way they talk to Kenyans because those are the shareholders of the Kenya Kwanza government. They talk to them very nicely Senator Edwin Sifuna.

“There has been an increase in government spending on travelling and entertainment. The office of the Deputy President put out an advertisement for a seafood supply. What does Gachagua know about seafood? Huyo ni mtu wa mtura.”

These were Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna ‘s sentiments in the Day Break show on Citizen TV, September 21, 2023, hosted by Trevor Ombija.

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale was also present.

Sifuna has advised the government to reflect on the cost of living in the country since they tend to ask Kenyans to tighten their belts. Still, their belts are loosened on their end without considering the suffering of the common wananchi “Wanjiku”.

He further went on to state in a statement about the behaviour of the ruling regime.

“You will never hear Ruto and his people speaking to Meg Whitman the way they talk to Kenyans because those are the shareholders of the Kenya Kwanza government. They talk to them very nicely,” said Sifuna.

This comes days after the CS Trade Hon Moses Kuria exchanged words with Citizen TV's Sam Gituku on the prices of cooking oil in the Kenyan supermarkets that did not resonate with his statements on the live show.

Kuria later claimed that fuel prices in the country will rise and are high worldwide.

After consultations with other Kenya Kwanza stakeholders on the same, Kuria later apologised through a post on X App.

@HonMoses_Kuria

Dear Kenyans. On Friday, September 15, I made some comments indicating that the fuel price will likely go up in the coming months owing to global dynamics. I have since been advised by people like Dr Boni Khalwale and his master that the statement was incorrect, insensitive and ARROGANT. I am made to understand now that the price will come down. I apologise profusely since to err is human.

Senator Sifuna has asked the President to apologise for lying to Kenyans to get elected.

“For the first time in the history of this country, fuel is retailing at above Ksh.200, and that's the legacy that President Ruto is leaving. Ruto should come out and apologise to Kenyans for lying to get elected,” he said.
