The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced the registration of learners for the 2025 Kenya Junior School Assessment (KJSEA).

KNEC states that all learners must be registered as fresh for KJSEA through the registration portal (cbasa.knec.ac.ke).

However, learners in the grade 9 portal shall not be automatically uploaded into the KJSEA portal.

The registration began on March 3, 2025, and will end on March 28, 2025.

You will provide necessary details like student information, including name, grade, and relevant assessment numbers.

KNEC has stated that eligible learners presented for KJSEA MUST:

1. Be existing in the Grade 9 databases.

2. Have a KPSEA Performance report.

3. Have SBA scores for Grades 7 and 8 in all the learning areas.

Any request for transfer at Grade 9 MUST be done online to avoid double registrations of candidates. KNEC warns that the transfer of candidates will not be allowed after the closure of the registration portal on March 28, 2025.

Additionally, KNEC says the registration of ghost candidates constitutes assessment malpractice, which attracts sanctions, such as de-registration of the school as a KNEC assessment centre.

In early January 2025, The Ministry of Education announced that junior school students would begin their national examinations in 2025. This marks a significant milestone in implementing the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).

KJSEA is designed to evaluate the learners in formative and summative assessments.

You will provide necessary details like student information, including name, grade, and relevant assessment numbers.
