As former United States President Barack Obama recently shared on X, “Through the Obama Foundation Leaders program, Michelle and I are working with the next generation of leaders looking to make a difference in their communities.”
The program focuses on values-based leadership; teaching qualities like empathy, integrity, and collaboration, while helping participants tackle complex problems in their communities.
Depending on your region, you may need to meet certain residency or citizenship requirements, and you should be proficient in English.
Applicants must be able to commit to the six-month program, including virtual sessions and any in-person meetings, and cannot run for political office while participating.
Selection is based on your leadership experience, vision for change, and alignment with the program’s values of integrity, empathy, and inclusion.
For those accepted, the program is an opportunity to grow as a leader, learn from experienced mentors, and connect with peers from around the world.
Alumni have gone on to lead initiatives that strengthen communities, advance social change, and address pressing issues like climate and education.
This program is not just about learning, it’s about being part of a global movement of changemakers dedicated to making the world better.
