The Ministry of Interior and National Administration notes that the World Rally Championship Safari Rally Kenya is the country’s biggest outdoor sporting event, with attendance nearly quadrupling between 2022 and 2025. This surge places greater importance on security and safety management.

Through a statement on X, the Ministry has confirmed that comprehensive security, traffic management, and public safety measures are in place for the World Rally Championship Safari Rally, scheduled for March 12–15, 2026 in Naivasha and surrounding areas.

“The Government through the Ministry of Interior and National Administration has activated a multi‑agency coordination framework to ensure the safety and security of rally drivers, teams, spectators, and residents during the globally renowned event,” the Ministry said in a statement on March 12.

The security plan involves the National Police Service, National Government Administration Officers, the National Transport and Safety Authority, and the Kenya National Highways Authority, working closely with county authorities and rally organizers.

More than 1,000 police officers will be deployed across rally routes, spectator zones, and key access roads to maintain security, manage crowds, and support traffic control operations.

The Ministry has advised motorists and the public that temporary traffic management measures and road diversions will be implemented along designated rally routes and surrounding corridors.

“In light of the prevailing heavy rainfall in several areas, motorists are further advised to exercise caution and remain alert to possible localized flooding,” the Ministry added.

Spectators attending the rally are urged to observe competitions only from designated zones, follow safety instructions issued by security officers and event marshals, and avoid restricted rally tracks or operational areas.

“The Government calls upon rally fans, residents, and visitors to cooperate with security officers and rally officials, adhere to traffic guidelines, and observe safety instructions to ensure the successful and safe hosting of Safari Rally Kenya,” the Ministry emphasized.
