Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika is doubling down on her hands‑on approach to community engagement, weaving together the wisdom of elders and the expertise of retired military veterans to advance inclusive development across the county.

Meeting Weseges Ward Elders

On March 6, 2026, Governor Kihika welcomed elders from Weseges Ward in Subukia Sub‑county to her office. The forum, led by retired Senior Chief John Koskei, brought together retired civil servants, women leaders, and pastors.

The discussions were practical and urgent: road grading along the Simboiyon–Ogilgei–Ndonga–Solai and Umoja–Ogilgei–Kabazi corridors to improve connectivity; strengthening staffing at Wei and Ogilgei health facilities to boost access to quality care; and investments in water, markets, high‑mast lighting, and agriculture.

Kihika was joined by Chief of Staff Peter Ketyenya.

“We also emphasized the need to safeguard peace and unity in Nakuru as a cosmopolitan county while continuing to work closely with community leaders to advance development,” said Kihika.
