- Cooperative Registration Certificate (to confirm legal status)
- A full list of members, showing how many bags each intends to receive
- Proof of financial contribution sufficient to redeem at least one lorry (600 bags)
- Nomination of one representative to collect the fertilizer voucher on behalf of the group (either a cooperative official or a member without an existing e‑voucher)
- Preferred Brand: Cooperatives should specify the fertilizer brand they want to ensure supply meets members’ needs.
The county government stressed that strict adherence to these requirements is essential for transparent and efficient distribution. Eligible cooperatives are urged to submit applications promptly to avoid delays.
Kenya’s subsidized fertilizer program, first launched in 2022 during the short rains season, was introduced to cushion farmers from high input costs and stabilize crop yields at a time of global price spikes.
Since then, the program has expanded each planting season, with billions of shillings committed to ensure farmers access fertilizer at about half the market price.
