Residents across Nakuru County have been invited to take part in shaping the county’s financial future as the government launches public hearings for the County Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) 2026.
The week‑long consultations, running from Monday, January 26 to Friday, January 30, 2026, will give citizens, community groups, and stakeholders a direct voice in deciding how county resources will be allocated over the next three years.
The CFSP is the county’s main budget policy document. Prepared annually, it sets out fiscal priorities, spending plans, and development goals in line with national frameworks. In practical terms, it guides how money will be spent on services such as health, education, roads, agriculture, and infrastructure.

Hearings will be held at ATC Soilo in Nakuru City from Monday through Thursday, with each day dedicated to different sectors:
The first day, Monday, January 26, will focus on trade, cooperatives, tourism, culture, social protection, education, and ICT, giving stakeholders in these areas a chance to present their priorities.
On Tuesday, January 27, discussions will shift to infrastructure, roads, environment, water, climate change, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, housing, and urban development, reflecting the county’s push for sustainable growth.
Wednesday, January 28, will be dedicated to health services, public administration, disaster management, and the County Public Service Board, highlighting service delivery and governance.
Finally, on Thursday, January 29, the hearings will cover the Office of the Governor and Deputy Governor, the County Assembly, and finance and economic planning, ensuring that leadership and fiscal accountability are part of the public dialogue.
On Friday, Jan 30, hearings will move to sub‑county venues: Nakuru ATC (Nakuru City), Naivasha Sub‑County Chambers, Molo Social Hall, and Forest Hall in Gilgil Town, focusing on agriculture and urban development in the municipalities.
Nakuru County is urging residents to attend the hearings or send written submissions via email.
