• Literally mothers who have given birth are lacking the very basic items like cocoa and hot water,sugar. Supplies were made in September last year according to Inooro tv.

In a report by The star Kenya on July 19, 2023 on death of early 25 new-born dying at Naivasha hospital every month, a likelihood of incubators-breakdown caused the deaths.

On their official twitter account, The Star newspaper confirmed that workers interviewed had admitted that critical machines like incubators broke down months ago while in the pharmacy, the last dispatch was sent in November last year.

Netizens have come out to condemn such misdeeds and actions that pose health threats to pregnant women in the entire Nakuru County, calling upon the county Governor Susan Kihika to clean up the mess instead of focusing more on the “Maandamano manenos."

Health ought to be the first priority of the county government to ensure a safe and prosperous county where infant mortality rate is reduced and condemned at all costs.

These are the reactions of Kenyans on twitter on the report urging the governor to act fast:

@AdamMaina_

For a county like Nakuru where we celebrated having women at the helm and expected them to ensure problems affecting mothers to be prioritized, it's a big shame . @SusanKihika and @TabithaKaranja.

@Kenju20

@susankihika sort your mess before talking about maandamano purr.

@19Ooar

Kihika lacked verifiable track record in public duty or private achievement except pedigree & amplification of then DP script! It’s tragic that Nakuru made a monumental mistake to replace a workaholic with a trumpet! Even the larger Kihika Kimani family felt she’s an imposter!

@sonimugo

@susankihika @MOH_Kenya @WHOKenya @WHO This is utterly wrong ! While elsewhere in the world they are struggling to achieve low rates of neonatal mortality, in Kenya its vise versa .This definitely needs action ASAP.
