Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has officially declared April 10, 2024, a public holiday to commemorate Idd ul Fitr. This special day holds great significance for Muslims as it marks the end of a month-long fasting period during Ramadan.
In a public notice issued by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration on April 9, 2024, it was announced that the public holiday declaration was made per the authority vested in the office by section 2(1) of the Public Holidays Act.
“Wednesday, the April 10, 2024 shall be a Public Holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr,” read the notice in part.
