Notably, the recruits were drawn from all 1,450 wards across the Republic of Kenya, showcasing the inclusive nature of the NYS program.
Established as a state corporation under the NYS Act of 2018, the NYS has a clear mandate to transform, develop skills, and empower Kenyan youth to foster disciplined, hardworking, and patriotic citizens.
The NYS achieves this through various programs, including paramilitary training, national service, and technical and vocational education and training.
The bottom-up approach emphasizes empowering individuals and communities at the grassroots level, providing them opportunities to enhance their economic well-being.
