In a horrifying incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, two children were brutally killed, and three men were injured in a stabbing attack in Queens, New York.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Courtney Gordon, stabbed two police officers before being shot down by one of the wounded officers.

On Sunday, March 12, 2023, at approximately 5:10 a.m. local time (10:10 GMT), the police received a distressing 911 call from a young female.

The caller, who identified herself as a cousin of the suspect, reported that her family members were being attacked. Responding swiftly, officers were dispatched to the address on Beach 22nd Street.

Upon their arrival, the officers encountered a male suspect who was seen leaving the premises with luggage. Tragically, the situation quickly escalated when the suspect produced a knife and viciously stabbed the officers.

One officer sustained wounds to the neck and chest, while the other was stabbed in the head. In an act of bravery and self-defence, one of the injured officers managed to draw his firearm and shoot the suspect, ultimately neutralizing the threat.

As additional officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the heartbreaking sight of an 11-year-old girl at the front door. Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to the injuries inflicted by the suspect.

Inside the house, three more bodies were found: a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old female, and a male in his 30s. Tragically, all three had lost their lives due to the severity of their injuries.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 37-year-old Courtney Gordon, who had a prior arrest for domestic violence in the Bronx.

At the time of the attack, Gordon was visiting his family members. The investigation of the motive and circumstances surrounding this heinous act is ongoing.
