Rescue teams have retrieved the body of a lady from the wreckage of an 18-storey building that collapsed in Nairobi's Eastleigh region, marking the first confirmed death since the collapse.

Emergency personnel have kept up their 24-hour search and rescue efforts at the scene as concerns rise about the 16 victims believed to still be missing.

What caused the building to collapse has not yet been established, with the whole situation is still under investigation.

Officials have also urged the public against getting too close to the site to give rescue teams space to conduct their operations.
