The Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made it clear that he is against Moses Kuria’s warning that no Government Agency should advertise with Nation Media Group.

According to the Deputy President, Kenya is a democratic government thus democracy should be embraced.

“I do not agree with what Moses Kuria has suggested that we should stop advertising with Nation Media Group. We shouldn’t because we are a democracy and we should be able to allow them continue doing their job,” Gachagua said.

The Deputy President had earlier on backed up Kuria on his anti-media sentiments, saying that the media was one sided in their reporting and lacking objectivity over the cost of the president’s foreign visits.

On June 18, 2023, the CS Trade and Investments Moses Kuria accused the media station of being ‘prostitutes’ and warned that any Government Agency official advertising with Nation Media will get fired.

The CS got at the media house as a response of a story published on an expose’ on Edible Oil Importation Deal which implicated him in the scandal.
