Over the weekend, Starehe-based detectives detained seven people and recovered narcotic drugs in Huruma, Nairobi County.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), over 10 kilograms of weed, 450 rolls of the same substance, weighing scales, daggers, and gas cylinders suspected of being stolen were recovered during the midnight raid on Saturday, June 17, 2023, following a tip from members of the public.

A car used to deliver the extremely addictive substance throughout the city was also seized.

Alex Murimi, Woche Sipa, Clinton Odinga, Kevin Kimani, Mohamed Wako, John Chege, and Hassan Yussuf are among the seven suspects charged with narcotics trafficking, possession of narcotic drugs, and preparation to commit a felony.

In April this year, Nairobi anti-narcotics detectives apprehended three alleged drug smugglers.
