On May 7, 2025, the Nakuru trade expo organising committee hosted several stakeholders in a breakfast meeting at Nakuru Sports Club to sensitise people about the upcoming expo.

The upcoming expo, which will run from May 29 to 31, 2025, at Nakuru Sports Club, targets business sector players, including innovators, manufacturers, suppliers, and others in the value chain. They are set to appear and showcase their products and brands for marketing and networking to build the future of the business.

While addressing the media covering the event, Mr. David Mwangi, Chairperson of Nakuru County Tourism Association, said he has high expectations that Nakuru City will become a niche of an expo destination where innovators will be coming to showcase their products.

“Tourism is the backbone of Nakuru and second in the county's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) earner. I am happy to welcome the trade expo that we are organising to showcase Nakuru city as an expo destination,” he said.

Josephat Nyongesa, Director at TJ Premier Limited, who was also among the main organisers of the Nakuru trade expo, has appealed to all stakeholders who are in business and want to showcase their products to turn up in multitudes. The event will be free for those who want to come and see.

“We want to encourage everyone who wants to put their brand in the limelight to bring their brands to an exhibition to the new market, and through the expo, they will be able to network and benefit,” Josephat said.

While meeting stakeholders and investors who will attend the expo, Mr Stephen Kuria Muiruri, Nakuru County CEC Trade, Culture and Tourism, stated that efforts to promote trade in Nakuru are worthy.

“Every county is competing to attract investment. Nakuru has been ranked 3rd in terms of fastest growing county and in terms of GDP after Nairobi. That shows each and every effort that we are putting as a government to promote trade in Nakuru is worthy and bearing fruit,” he said.

He requested everyone in and outside Nakuru to consider Nakuru a great city for investment, citing the expo as a great opportunity to create a network of investors and traders to share their knowledge, expand partnerships, and gain exposure.

Senior Deputy County Commissioner Nakuru East Sub County, Mr. Werre Simiyu, representing the county commissioner, and the security team guaranteed the safety of exhibitors and everyone who would attend the expo.

“I want to inform exhibitors and all stakeholders who intend to attend the expo that we have put all the surety arrangements in place, and assure them that their property will be safe. Feel free to join and look at what will be exhibited in the expo,” he said.
