Dr. Wesley Bor, a Health Specialist and Governance Coach has been trending on social media, thanks to the political endorsement from the Gen Zs of Kericho County. They have declared their support for their next potential county leader, emphasizing the need for someone who can mentor them and address their long-standing needs.
Dr. Bor is a Senior Lecturer at Kabarak University School of Medicine and hails from Kericho County. He has been mentoring young people for over 15 years. His mentees are now urging him to run for a political seat in the 2027 General Elections.
Additionally, Dr. Bor serves as the Director of Connect Youth Consortium, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to supporting young people in Kericho, Bomet, Narok, and Bungoma.
Speaking during an interview on the TalkChat Podcast on April 25, 2025, Dr Bor said the NGO's aim is to provide opportunities for young people in terms of skills and various aspects relevant to their development.
The conversation about Dr. Bor's potential candidacy began in 2024. “They are looking for someone who can mentor them. We have been discussing leadership issues and internship opportunities after they complete their studies,” he added.

Many of these youth, who are currently in universities, colleges, and vocational training institutions, look to Dr. Bor for support in securing job opportunities after graduation.
To express their support for Dr. Bor, the youth have created slogans such as ‘Voice of Kericho,’ ‘Ugatuzi na Bor,’ and ‘Kericho is Our Business.’ Through videos on social media platforms like TikTok, Kericho youth are advocating a change in their county.
“They coined the slogan ‘Kericho is Our Business’ because if we, as residents and elites from Kericho, do not develop our county, who else will? Kericho is our business in terms of economy, inclusivity, promoting agriculture, and facilitating scholarships for young people. The third slogan, ‘Ugatuzi Bora,’ revolves around the county’s infrastructure,” he explained.
Political analyst Dr Michael Ndonye during a recent episode of the TalkChat Podcast identified the Gen Z as one of the king makers come 2027. According to Dr Ndonye, any politician endorsed by the Gen Z is likely to win the elections since they make the majority of the voting bloc.
“Any politician aiming for success in 2027 must capture the Gen Z vote, as other generations will follow suit,” the political analyst said.
