President Ruto has affirmed the revival of the stalled Mau Mau Road projects across Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyandarua, and Nyeri counties. This will see Kiambu receive KSh3.6 billion for these roads. Upon completion, these roads will ease transport of people and goods, and connect Kiambu to other counties.

Kiambu will also see enhanced access to electricity as, the President has confirmed that Ksh500 million has been allocated to cater for the process. On that note, Kiambu will benefit from the Affordable Housing Program, as the government is building seven affordable housing projects comprising 16,000 units in the county.

Dr Ruto has additionally emphasised his Administration’s commitment to supporting farmers and traders with the ongoing construction of sundry modern markets. “25 modern markets are being built in the county, 11 of which are at more than 50 per cent stage of completion,” he stated.

In that same regard, President Ruto has laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Githunguri Modern Market, which will serve more than 1,200 traders.

The Head of State has accentuated the benefit of the projects and programmes to the residents, attributing them to the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). “We are accelerating the implementation of BETA, as endorsed by the people. These projects and programmes are not only creating jobs but also addressing the priority needs of the people and driving socio-economic transformation at the grassroots,” he opined.
