Harambee Stars stunned by South Sudan after going down 1-0 in a FIFA friendly match at Kasarani in Nairobi, the report states.
Earlier on before the match on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, President Ruto had invited Kenyans to come out in large numbers to cheer their team, Harambee Stars as they battle for victory against South Sudan.
“I am happy that Kenyans showed up in Qatar to cheer up the Harambee Stars, Today at 4 pm, Harambee Stars will be playing against South Sudan, I want to ask all Kenyans to show up and cheer our team,” President Ruto said.
Kenyans on X App have shown disappointment in the outcome of the match citing a lack of proper arrangement and planning of the team.
Others were not dismayed by the failure since they believed if something was not done, Kenya would not make it to the World Cup 2026.
Speaking about the game, the management was to blame as a majority of the fans stated that unity of purpose was not seen in Kenyan football.
We love football as a Nation but the football management in this country has let us down time and time again ! There is more joy and unity in high school football -@Toruk_Makto8

Any reasonable sportsman knows that’s normal and acceptable in any game. Tusonge mbele.

We shall fight another day. Winners never quit!

Kwani is that news? It could have been news had they won. Harambee Stars can't even beat a team like Agoro Sare.

Until we balance the team, no World Cup participation...
