"I don't have a specific season of recording my songs, but rather I do so anytime I get inspiration," he shared.

Africana's journey in the music industry began when he worked as a teacher before joining the Wasojali band, a Coastal-based musical group. With this band, he released his first single titled "Nitalia Nawe," which achieved remarkable success. Although the band eventually disbanded, Africana continued to pursue his musical career.

His breakthrough came with the release of the single "Ring," a song he says was written as he was walking down the aisle. The track propelled his career to new heights, garnering over 2 million views on YouTube and introducing him to a broader audience. People began to recognize him through this captivating song.

Since then, Africana has transcended borders, often mistaken for a Tanzanian artist due to his versatility and cross-cultural appeal. He has collaborated with various artists from both Kenya and Tanzania, including Nyota Ndogo, Mr. Blue, Maua Sama, Arrow Bwoy, and many others.
