• Gachagua expressed his belief that UDA should transcend being just a party for elections and strive to become a lasting force in Kenyan politics, with a lifespan of 100 years.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, a prominent figure within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), recently emphasized the party's long-term vision, comparing it to the transformative legacy of the Communist Party of China (CPC.)

Gachagua expressed his belief that UDA should transcend being just a party for elections and strive to become a lasting force in Kenyan politics, with a lifespan of 100 years.

“UDA is the younger brother of the CPC, but is the party of the future. We want to develop it like the Communist Party of China. It cannot be a party for elections only. We must make UDA stay around for 100 years," Rigathi Gachagua said.

Since its establishment in 2020 by William Ruto, UDA has emerged as a significant political entity in Kenya. In the 2022 Kenyan general election, the party nominated Ruto as its leader following his departure from the Jubilee Party in late 2021.

UDA has a distinctive symbol of a wheelbarrow, representing the worth, respect, and dignity of work in pursuit of an unbiased society.
