• Netizens have come out to condemn such act claiming men are suffering silently since their issues are never put into considerations while women enjoy protection even against what they tend to instigate themselves.

A video of a woman throwing a punch at a man has surfaced online, with numerous individuals having different reactions and criticisms.

Hitting women in our African culture seemed to be an abomination and a breaking of the law. More so, people say it is Gender-Based Violence, but what if it is the man involved? What if the man is the victim of GBV, which has always been based on women?

@JanoNyaga

This is not okay. This is wrong. Na sasa if the guy decides to hit back?? She will go flying across the floor?? Then starts to cry? Then women rep wakuje 🙆🏼‍♀️

@GlamParte_

Don't underestimate a quiet person. One blow from him will declare a funeral.

@bildadwafula•

It saddens me. So it’s okay for that lady to slap the guy that way. Not okay for the guy to retaliate. Sad! Sad!

@silasmutiti

The sad truth is the lady will be done nothing,but angekuwa mwanaume angetafutwa vibaya sana na @NPSOfficial_KE @PoliceKE #GBV.

@denitzky

Mi unishike ivi heri tunamalizana the only touch I can get from a woman is a romantic touch. I won’t care if you Jesus daughter or daughter of jezebel.

The question then arises: should a man react to such violence or just be silent about it?

Men have always been taught not to throw a finger at a woman, but such disrespect is unheard of.

It's high time laws are amended to cater for such people as men who undergo Gender-Based Violence. Silence is not the solution to such violence. Don’t be silent; speak out.
