The historic ceremony attracted a large mass of worshippers and dignitaries, including temple chairman Shailesh Sheth and India's Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya, Sushil Prasad.

Speaking during the celebrations at the temple in Nakuru on Sunday, January 25, 2026, Mr. Sushil Prasad said that witnessing the unveiling of Lord Hanuman Dada at the Shri Krishna Temple was a source of immense pride and delight.

“This magnificent installation strengthens the Shri Krishna Temple's position as a spiritual center in the area and represents a momentous occasion for the Hindu community in Kenya,” he said.

He also added that the 20-feet idol is a potent representation of strength, devotion, and the long-lasting cultural ties between Kenya and India. These kinds of occasions demonstrate the rich contributions made by the Indian diaspora to Kenyan society and strengthen the close connection between the two countries.

Mr. Shailesh Sheth emphasized that the unveiling of the idol god in the Shri Krishna Temple in Nakuru has marked a milestone in the history of the Hindu community, and the idol was billed as the tallest in East Africa.

 “We have completed the Sthapana ritual and unveiled the majestic 20-feet Lord Hanuman Dada idol, the tallest of its kind in the area. Through the customary Pran Pratishtha rites, this sacred idol has been placed, calling on Hanumanji's divine presence to bless everyone who seeks his protection and direction, ”he said.

Before coming together at the temple in Section 58 for the great reveal, the festivities started with a vibrant parade that wound through the streets of Nakuru town, full of grandeur, rhythmic dances, and devotional chants.
