• The engagements focused on strengthening coordination among National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs), police leadership, and county security teams to enhance public safety and streamline service delivery.

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen has intensified on‑the‑ground security and service delivery assessments across the Rift Valley, leading high‑level engagements in Naivasha, Nakuru County, and later in Laikipia County.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Murkomen arrived in Naivasha Sub‑County to evaluate the state of security and government service delivery. He engaged local leadership and security agencies, pressing for accelerated development and stronger public safety measures.

Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Dr. Abdi Hassan, Regional Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi, and Nakuru County Commissioner Dr. Loyford Kibaara joined him, alongside other national and county officials.

Their discussions centered on tightening coordination among National Government Administrative Officers (NGAOs), police leadership, and county security teams to streamline service delivery and reinforce public safety.

“We are fully committed to maintaining peaceful coexistence amongst all communities living in any part of Kenya,” said Murkomen.

In order to enhance security and bring government services closer to Wananchi, Murkomen announced the creation of a new Division and the building of a police station in the area.

“The Divisional Headquarters will also house ID and civil registration offices. This, coupled with a mobile registration programme, will enhance access to the crucial documents in the underserved area,” he said.

Murkomen added that chiefs across the country are also under instructions to facilitate the issuing of IDs to Kenyans who meet the requirements, ensuring that no discrimination is entertained.

The following day, Thursday, February 19, 2026, Murkomen led a similar mission in Laikipia County.

He held security briefings with regional and county committees, met community and conservancy leaders, inspected ongoing development projects, and addressed residents at Umande‑Mwireri Police Post.

“The visit is aimed at strengthening security coordination and assessing service delivery and implementation of government programmes in the county,” he said.

Murkomen was again accompanied by Inspector General Kanja and Regional Commissioner Hassan, together with senior government officials.

These Rift Valley tours form part of the Interior Ministry’s broader strategy to reinforce security collaboration, monitor national project implementation, and guarantee effective delivery of public services at the grassroots level.
