In the midst of chaos and tensed environment of media versus Trade CS Hon Moses Kuria, Mutahi Ngunyi has come out clearly through his official twitter account to criticize Trade Cabinet Secretary of his utterance terming it as a loss on his side but either way asking him to never apologize, but to relax.
“My FREN Moses Kuria: You cannot FIGHT the media and WIN. And it does NOT matter whether you are RIGHT or RIGHT. Yes, the media is CORRUPT to the CORE and FROM the core. But PLEASE do not mention it. Also, do NOT apologize. And to call a dignified WOMAN Malaya is very BAD. Relax.”

Kuria later on appeared in a video threatening government agencies to stop advertising with Nation Media or else face being fired.
Later, on his twitter page, he came out to call the media house “Malaya” Swahili word meaning a prostitute which stirred debates and fury among the organizations’ in charge of media like Kenya Union of Journalists and the Media Council of Kenya who came out at the defense of Nation Media.
