In a nail-biting Euro 2024 quarter-final, France edged out Portugal after a scoreless draw. Neither team could find the net in regular or extra time, so the match went to penalty kicks.

The first half was a snoozefest, with both teams struggling to create chances. The second half had a bit more spark, but still no goals. Portugal had a penalty shout that wasn't given, France almost scored a few times, and superstar Kylian Mbappe even had to leave the game with an injury.

Extra time was tense, with both sides desperate for a winner. Portugal had a golden chance to win it, but Cristiano Ronaldo blasted his shot over the bar. Finally, after 120 minutes of frustration, the game went to penalties.

France held their nerve and scored all five penalties. Portugal needed all their kicks to stay in the game, but Joao Felix missed his, sending his team crashing out of the tournament. France will now face Spain in the semi-finals, still undefeated but without their star player Mbappe.
