“Those saying the cost of living is high were part of the handshake government. When unga was at Kshs.230 Raila was quiet and he didn’t demonstrate, yet he was Uhuru’s advisor. Now that unga is at Kshs. 170 , he is holding demonstrations”.

These were Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s remarks a day ahead of the Saba Saba Grand March that is set to Friday, July 7, 2023 today.

Kenyans have come out to critique Gachagua’s comments terming them as lies and pretenses since the price he claim is presently for unga is not the real on since Kenyans have been crying of the increase in prices of commodities unga being in the top list of it all.

Here are the comments and frustrations of the angry netizens on twitter ;

Huyu jamaa ni kaa hakulangi ugali.

Maybe last time yake kukula ugali ilikuwa during the handshake government.

I don't have any problem with whatever Riggy G says because am used to them and I don't expect any sense in them, I only have a problem with those who listen, defend and listen to him.

@bubba_brian3

With or without his ill-advised current unga prices, his point still holds. Raila is a respected political figure but fighting a war like we are still in the 90’s. Current problems need current solutions.

Kwani Kenyans life revolve around unga. The GOK allows import of maize, then walk around shouting on how they have resolved cost of living.
