The Kilifi County International Investment Conference which began on December 4, and runs till December 6, 2024 is a significant step to expose the investment opportunities in Kilifi County held at Vipingo in Kilifi County.
While launching the conference on December 5, 2024, President William Ruto committed to ensuring counties across the country harness their unique resources and capitalise on their potential to attract investments.
Additionally, he noted that the Counties are the engines that would drive national growth and development.
"Devolution has provided us with a unique opportunity and the capacity to empower our grassroots by unlocking untapped socio-economic potential," he stated.
They highlighted Kilifi County as a place that has significantly contributed to the national reputation as a land of opportunities, shared prosperity, and limitless possibilities, and they commend the county for the steps it has taken toward investment and sustainability.

According to President William Ruto, Kilifi is known for its sand beaches, hospitality, tourism sites, and destination for many people around the world, and it was time for the county to go beyond and showcase its investment capabilities.
"This conference demonstrates that our counties are not only capable of leading but are already driving the transformation of Kenya's socio-economic landscape," he said.
The president also stated that tourists are expected to rise from 1.4 million in 2023 to more than 2.4 million in 2024. With a target of 5 Million tourists annually by 2027, the government has been implementing Visa-free entry programs.
The president also disclosed the licensing of 39 Special Economic Zones across the country, with 10 within the coastal region; this will create employment and unlock the country's investment potential.
"We have also licensed 39 Special Economic Zones, including 10 at the Coast, to attract investors, unlock counties' potential, drive growth and create jobs," said Ruto.
