- According to the official results, his counterpart William Ruto won the elections with 50.5% of the vote, making him the fifth president of Kenya.
In a recent interview on the DayBreak Show on Citizen Television, Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale strongly appealed to opposition leader Raila Odinga, urging him to set aside bitterness and accept the outcome of the 2022 presidential poll.
“If all other people are happy with how IEBC conducted the General Elections, Raila must accept to become a fair competitor and not a sour loser who after every 5 years brings us back to this nonsense,” he said.
Khalwale also emphasized the importance of holding bipartisan talks transparently, allowing the Kenyan public to see.
“The Bipartisan talks should be held in public so that Kenyans can see that we are dealing with an Azimio team which is cleverly exercising the role of a busybody,” Khalwale added.
Khalwale has encouraged Raila Odinga to follow his example of accepting defeat.
“For five years, I have been out of elective office, and I kept my peace and pursued my agenda on how I would make my way back. Raila should do the same.”
The opposition leader Raila Odinga denied the 2022 presidential results in the General Elections in August 2022.
According to the official results, his counterpart William Ruto won the elections with 50.5% of the vote, making him the fifth president of Kenya.
