• This appeal comes over two months after Jumaisi escaped from police custody on August 20, 2024, prompting authorities to ramp up their search efforts and offer a cash reward for credible information leading to his capture.

In a case that has gripped the nation; the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is urgently seeking assistance from the public to locate Collins Jumaisi Khalusha, the primary suspect in the horrific Kware massacre that left 42 women dead.

This appeal comes over two months after Jumaisi escaped from police custody on August 20, 2024, prompting authorities to ramp up their search efforts and offer a cash reward for credible information leading to his capture.

“If you have any information regarding Collins Jumaisi Khalusha's whereabouts, we encourage you to share it confidentially through the anonymous #FichuaKwaDCI hotline at 0800722203 or reach out to the police through the hotlines 999, 911, and 112,” said the DCI in a statement.

Jumaisi was being held at the Gigiri Police Station in connection with the murders, with victims' bodies discovered at the Kware dumpsite in Nairobi. On the day of his escape, he managed to break free alongside 12 other detainees by cutting through a wire mesh barrier. As the manhunt continues, the DCI has renewed its plea for the public to come forward with any leads.

Despite having previously confessed to the murders, Jumaisi's lawyer, John Maina Ndegwa, asserts that his client was coerced into confession under torture—a claim that DCI investigators have firmly denied. Ndegwa is now calling for immediate medical attention for Jumaisi, advocating for fair treatment as the legal proceedings unfold.

This ongoing investigation is critical to public safety, with the DCI intensifying efforts to apprehend Jumaisi. The hope now lies in the cooperation of the public, as authorities work to bring this dramatic search to a conclusion.
