• As a female photographer, I have grown to look up to great photographers like Peter McKinnon, who have, over the years, helped me develop my photography skills regarding diverse camera settings and creative ways of creating, capturing and editing photos.

For generations, the world has been captured through a camera lens. From documenting historical moments to crafting breathtaking works of art, photography has shaped our understanding of the world. Historically, photography has been seen as a technical, almost mechanical field with societal views of men’s capabilities, which, with time, has made gender dynamics in this field a bit complex. Today, that narrative has changed.

As a female photographer, I have grown to look up to great photographers like Peter McKinnon, who have, over the years, helped me develop my photography skills regarding diverse camera settings and creative ways of creating, capturing and editing photos. These lessons created a strong foundation in my profession and bundled my love for photography after seeing how diverse and free the world photography is.

I greatly acknowledge the works of great male photographers who have managed to build influence and legacy in this field. Thankfully, this narrative is changing for the betterment of diversity. I am happy to witness a surge of incredibly talented women photographers who create stunning images and push boundaries in commercial and traditional film visualization.
