Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has articulated a reflection on Kenya’s six-decade journey of diplomacy, as the nation celebrates its 60th anniversary of Diplomatic journey emphasizing the nation’s resilience, growth, and leadership on the global stage.

“At 60 years old, Kenya has a remarkable story to share—a story of resilience, growth, and leadership,” he stated during a press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Affairs Headquarters.

Mudavadi highlights Kenya’s diplomatic evolution, noting that the country has transformed significantly since its independence. “In 1963, Kenya began with just four embassies; today, it proudly operates 68 missions worldwide, tirelessly advocating for the interests of its citizens,” Mudavadi highlighted in a post on X.

“Kenya's role as a peace advocate is particularly noteworthy,” Mudavadi notes. The nation has participated in 43 peacekeeping and peace support missions globally, from the tumultuous regions of Yugoslavia to East Timor, and from Sierra Leone to Somalia. This steadfast commitment to promoting peace and stability underscores Kenya’s dedication to both regional and international security.

As the nation celebrates this significant milestone, with celebrations having started on November 26 and will run till December 2, 2024, Mudavadi has expressed optimism for the future. “We look ahead with a refreshed Foreign Policy, shaped through broad stakeholder engagement. Together, we will continue to amplify Kenya’s voice and influence on the global stage,” he remarked, inviting all Kenyans to join in writing the next chapters of the country’s extraordinary diplomatic journey.
