South African Rappers naming their kids after Kenya has stirred a debate online with questions of why Kenya?
In a post on X by Africa Facts Zone, the writer has confirmed the naming.
“ Emtee named his daughter Nairobi.Kwesta named his daughter Kenya.”
Mthembeni Ndevu, better known by his stage name Emtee is a South African rapper. He was born in Matatiele and grew up in Rockville, Soweto, where he was involved in talent shows. His career began at the age of 17, and his debut hit single, "Roll Up" was released in 2015.
Senzo Mfundo Vilakazi known professionally as Kwesta, is a South African rapper and songwriter. Born in Katlehong, Gauteng, a township also known as "K1". In 2003, at the age of 15, he and his friends formed a rap group Ghetto Fellaz which then changed to The Juvenylz, same year.

They must have their reasons... Good for them and the kids but I hope they don't get bullied because of the name... Just saying because I know how it was for a lot of kids that have unique names. Primary and secondary school wasn't so much fun for them because of those names.
